ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR
Alex Xela is a 34 year old visionary artist and transformational tattooist in Seattle that approaches creation as a ritual practice of devotion and spiritual alchemy, exploring the intersection of visible and hidden worlds.
Their work seeks to blend polarities of existence: light and darkness, structure and flow, masculine and feminine; often pulling inspiration from their experience navigating the world as a queer, polyamorous, non-binary human.
They are a visual storyteller that invites the viewer to lean into their heart space, surrendering to magic, curiosity and the unknown.
Alex received a Bachelor of Fine Art with a focus in photography from Illinois State University in 2015. The following few years they explored many forms of art including glass blowing, illustration, painting and jewelry making before breaking into the tattoo industry in 2021.
They own and operate a private tattoo studio in South Seattle, where they offer ceremonial tattoo sessions as a container for deep healing and transformation.
